in the spirit of a full disclosure,

i am not the daughter of a preacher, but i am a baptised and confirmed roman catholic. although i haven't been to mass in a bit, i still very much practice my faith.as the stereotype would have it, the average (mainly cultural) catholic is not reading and annotating the bible as one would've think.when i thought of doing this, i thought of doing so in earnest, hence me disclosing this. i don't personally have any religious trauma, my community knows i am openly queer and i have never, personally, met someone who had a bad experience within catholic circles; however, i don't discount the experience of those who might have had it.during my time in rcia, the catechists and priests were 100% sincere and we talked openly about, among the many historical wrongdoings of the roman catholic church as an institution, the sexual abuse cases and how the pope have been working with the appropriate authorities to bring about justice for the survivors. the harm done is real and i hope in my heart of hearts that those afflicted by it may heal and receive justice!the bible itself is a collection of books and i am approaching the text as i would any other and critique it accordingly.my main resources are, besides my dustied physical bible, the vatican.org and the catechism of the catholic church for contextual aid.i will be rating the texts and comment on what i find to be interesting! 🦇
